THAILAND, 25 January 2017 – Leading international health and fitness club operator Virgin Active has officially opened its fifth club in Central Festival EastVille, delivering to the residents of eastern Bangkok the unique service offerings that the brand has become synonymous with.

Designed with its members in mind, Virgin Active EastVille has a total floor space of 4,200 square metres across four floors, and offers members the same unparalleled experiences, innovative products and wide range of facilities that they have come to expect from Virgin Active.

The club has one whole floor dedicated to strength and functional training and another for its two high energy studios, which can be made into one larger studio measuring over 300 square metres in size. This allows for even more members to participate in popular group exercise classes such as Zuu, Pulse powered by Clubbercise®, Zumba™ and other more innovative classes to be introduced throughout the year. Virgin Active offers members an extensive group exercise programme of over 200 classes each week, to cater to the different health and fitness needs of its members.

Christian Mason, Managing Director, South East Asia, Virgin Active, commented that the success of its first four clubs shows that the brand is creating an unrivalled health and fitness club offering, both in Thailand and other parts of South East Asia.

“The opening of Virgin Active EastVille is in line with our previously announced plans to accelerate our growth and presence in South East Asia, with an investment of 5 billion Thai Baht (£100 million) to open another five more clubs within the next 12 months,” he shared.  “There currently exists a huge opportunity to introduce high-end fitness clubs to the Asia market, and Virgin Active has the specialisation to capitalise and change the region’s fitness market with our clubs and service offerings.”

Central Festival EastVille, one of Bangkok’s latest lifestyle hubs, caters to the everyday needs and wants of residents living in eastern Bangkok, wanting an escape from the busy citylife. Set away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Virgin Active EastVille was specifically designed to appeal to those who do not live near the city and want to work out either on their way home after work or on weekends.

The club in Central Festival Eastville will have the privilege of being Virgin Active’s first club in the region to offer Active Crew, a dedicated health and fitness programme for children between the ages of 7 to 15. In addition to the fact that families will be able to work out together and parents will not have to worry about their children spending too much time in front of a TV or a computer, one other advantage of the programme is that it aims to inculcate in children positive healthy habits that will last them a lifetime.

Olarn Phirintharangkoon, Country Manager, Thailand, Virgin Active said: “Virgin Active seeks the best locations for its clubs and opening a club in the eastern part of Bangkok has always been part of our plans for Thailand. To help encourage the adoption of a healthy lifestyle by our members and those living around Central Festival EastVille, we will be introducing new group exercise classes once a quarter, and be constantly bringing in new innovations and technologies.”

Virgin Active EastVille is Virgin Active’s fifth club in Thailand, following the success of its four other clubs located at Empire Tower, EmQuartier, Westgate and Siam Discovery. The club’s Active Crew offering will be launched later this year.
